I'm in Jewelry Affaire!

I'm quite excited that Jewelry Affaire has published two pairs of my earrings in the current issue. They're in the "Jewelry Box" gallery section of the Spring issue, on pages 132-133.

I've also got some new things up in my shop:

These earrings, featuring some of my polymer clay beads:
And this necklace, all in iridescent grey tones, which I'm obsessed with now. It seems to be a spring trend for me.
I realize my idea of spring is not typical, but the light greys, murky pond and mud colors, seem as appropriate as the more common bright greens, yellows, pinks, and blues that are usually associated with spring.

22 years ago this month I drove my sister's enormous 70s Dodge Monaco from Kansas to Utah, where I ended up living for 18 years. It was such a huge time of transition, leaving one place and life for another, and certain things that accompanied me on that trip: very dramatic billowing grey storm clouds, constant light rains, an audio cassette of Orwell's 1984, and a Eurythmics cassette, all created a sense of meaning, drama, profound change, and promise that somehow cemented themselves as the essence of Spring to me.

Anyway, if you find yourself in Barnes and Noble, check out my earrings in Jewelry Affaire and let me know what you think!

(ps--does anyone know how to get those "published in" magazine pictures people display on their blog sidebars?)

  1. Lol that's so weird - the Eurythmics and 1984, I've just blogged about my 80's muses too. Congrats on the magazine feature, just love the translucent greys in your necklace

Your creations are wonderful, and I love that this move you made so long ago still has an impression on you and how you perceive spring.

  5. More congratulations on your featured earrings.
    Well deserved.
Stormy grey days of spring are just as beautiful in their way as the bright ones. Nice new work.
