Last call....

I will be putting my shops on vacation at some point over the weekend to finally force myself to stop obsessing over listing and Etsying in general.  I'm thinking I'll turn the shops off tomorrow (Saturday) evening sometime.  Perhaps a bit earlier.

I can make all kinds of plans to organize and such, but I always end up spending the majority of my time preparing photos, attending to inquiries and orders and such.  As well it should be, pretty much, but not when all the underlying structure seems like it's crumbling.  The disorganization of my studio and office is worse than ever and I simply must fix it now.
Dance me to your beauty
It just feels like a general time of Transit. We had a terrible last couple of weeks with our darling oldest pet rat Amos.  He had a chronic respiratory disease that is very common in fancy rats.  It was being managed well for a while with antibiotics and then his health took a nosedive and it was clear we were in a dire and terminal situation.  He died a few days ago.  It was heartbreaking to see him suffer and struggle but I can say I am profoundly humbled by his innate bravery, gentleness, and grace.
Be my homeward dove
In this vibe of change I'm taking a necessary and slightly belated spring break to really organize and generally catch up on everything.  Having to step back a little while Amos was sick really had me behind in shipping and everything I had going with customs and such, and I realized it's time to make some changes.  It's hard for me to put the shop on vacation--I don't even do that when I actually go on vacation.

Right now I'm think they'll be on vacation 5 days to a week.  I have several new and fairly new orders, and they'll all be going out either tomorrow or Monday.  Anything ordered from now till I turn the shops off will be sent Monday.  I will still be around of course, so please don't hesitate to ask about orders, items, etc.

And of course I will still be collecting comments on the post below for the 200 bead giveaway.  Lots of new people commenting, which is really nice!  Let's say next Friday will be the last day to enter with a comment and I will do the drawing Saturday, and announce in the following couple days.  So, scroll down, and  leave a comment on the post below this one for the giveaway!

  1. Sorry to hear about your rat, my brother kept rats for years and they're very friendly. Sometimes it's necessary to take a break and come back with a fresh perspective.

    1. I saw a video of darling Chunky making her sweet munching noises at your blog. It's my favorite sound ever. I am so sorry.

We are focusing now on helping Amos's cagemate Squiggy through his grieving and also introducing him slowly to our other pair in hopes of getting them all in the same cage so he won't be single.
